Pure Pumped For Pastels...

Hello!
The flowers will be blooming soon back in sunny Scotland, which also means spring trends are nearly upon us. Pastels of course are always a winner and are back in the running this year for Spring trends 14'. Everyone should know by now what a massive fan I am of pastel shades. So I am particularly happy. Missguided.co.uk have an ace selection this year so definitely take a look if you get a chance.

Berlin in 4 days.

So sorry I haven't posted in so long guys.
I've been distracted for the past few weeks trying to reinvent myself for 2014 ya know. I hit the jackpot this year as on the very day everyone was going back to school and work, I got to go tae Berlin! Qual. Berlin is such a gorgeous city, with modern architecture overlapping old buildings such as the Reichstag,  It has one of the most diverse skylines to anywhere i've ever visited before.  I went to Berlin with 17 other people so there was never a dull moment. We all shared a light and airy apartment in the Friedrichshain district. Which had a barry kebab shop next to it and a HUGE multi story vintage shop round the corner.  I won't make you jealous by telling you the entire trip so I'll list some of my highlights and share some piccies.

1. East Side Gallery
2. Brandenburg Gate
3. Cheap Beer
4. Massive Vintage Shops
5. Dancing till 6am with Gildo
7. Nefertiti's Head

Raw,Vegan,Gluten-free Nanaimo bars

I started the day off by waking up before midday.Wow. I then went to the gym for the first time in years and almost fainted on the treadmill however all in all it was a great morning. I have been looking for a recipe for Nanaimo bars for ages which allow for vegans and gluten free to enjoy as well. Originally the cream in the centre would be made with butter icing however in this recipe we substitute it with coconut oil and coconut cream. All in all prep time is around 30 minutes, Then freeze it for as long as you want.
Lets begin...

Chocolate crust ingredients:
128g of flaked almonds
64g of soaked dates
64g of shredded coconut
32g of cocoa powder
Dash of salt

Cream ingredients:
3 oz of Coconut Oil
64g of Soaked Cashews
3 Tbsp Agave Nectar
3 oz Coconut Cream
1/2 Tsp Vanilla Extract

Chocolate topping ingredients:
64g Soaked Cashews
64g Cup Cocoa Powder
6 oz Cup Coconut Oil
3 oz Agave Nectar

1. Place all the ingredients for the middle cream layer into a bowl. Use an electronic whisk  until smooth. Put this to one side.

2. Put all of the chocolate topping ingredients into a bowl, whisk until completely smooth. Put this mix to the side also.

3. Finally put all of your chocolate crust into a bowl and whisk until dough like. (Don't worry if its a wee but crumbly it will fuse in the freezer) spoon this into a silicone tray and flatten down with a spatula until you have an even biscuity looking base.

4. Top the crust layer with the cream layer and spread out evenly. I found last time that it was really difficult to layer the chocolate on top of the cream while it was still runny. To avoid this rest it in the freezer for around 10 minutes until the cream layer is firm.
5. Top with your chocolate topping.

6. Pop it in the freezer for as long as you need to (at least an hour) and serve it up to suit you and yer pals. I cut mine into wee bunnies.

How to wear yer 'mom' jeans.

'Mom' jeans have finally hit the high street sparking a new craze among fashionistas around the globe. Topshop have especially grasped the trend offering you many different types to fall in love with. I just love them cause they're comfy, they don't cut the circulation off in your thighs and you don't have to lie on your back to pull them up. I struggled a bit getting them right as I am a tad on the shorter side, so I chucked some chunky boots in to add a few inches. Yas. A cami top also works well as it slims your shoulders and looks delicate against the bagginess of the jeans . If you don't want your arms out chuck a baggy shirt on top and tie it at the waist. Sorted.

Scottish Beaches & Weekend madness

Good day!

I've had a jam packed weekend with trips to Glasgow, espresso tasting and chilly walks on the beach.
On Friday Me and Case went out to North Berwick to sample some coffee from Steampunk which is an independent roastery and coffee shop located in North Berwick. We were so Buzzin after, we had to have a wee run on the beach.

We also got a chance to take a few shots of my OOTD with a scenic background to jazz up the shots.

I also went to see my favourite band Frightened Rabbit at the O2 academy in Glasgow last night which was amazing. I was planning on doing a separate blog post on the gig. However my camera was confiscated at the door as I must of looked like such a professional. Need to work on that journalists pass! This is all I got.

A nice wee Wednesday.

I was lucky enough to have training at the artisan roast roastery this morning with my pal Marie, which was great! We got to see the beans go through the roasting process and learnt about the different kind of brewed coffee like v60 and Chemex. I drank so much coffee I thought I was going to pass out which is a sign of a good morning.

It was pouring down today and I would have loved to do some photos outside, but my face and the rain would have made everyone sad.  I did manage to take a couple of photos of the beautiful ring I got from Hannah Zakari today. Hannah Zakari is a local, independent business which sells gorgeous handmade jewellery and other lovely things. This wee shop is perfect for presents or if you just want to treat yourself.

Amys five essentials

I am such a lounger and love to be comfy wherever I can. So although my five essentials look simple you honestly can't go wrong with this comfy collection .

1. 'The oversized t-shirt' At work , at home, There is nowhere you can't wear this baggy beauty . I tend to wear it with leggings in the summer and skinnys in the winter.

2. Everyone needs those one pair of jeans that no matter how many slices of chocolate cake, you just slip them on and feel like a size 0. My favies are the 'Joni super high waisted' from Topshop , simply because the material is so stretchy and cosy.

3. My vans are the shoes I look to when my feet seem like they can't take anymore of life. Nike lo blazers are also a personal favourite. Especially when I have to be on my feet all day at work , these shoes honestly are the best. They go with anything and add a couple of centimetres to your height. Quality.

4. I chuck on my chain with anything and everything in my wardrobe and seem to never get bored of it. So good at adding a bit of bling to any outfit.

5. Finally the handbag which stores items that could cope with any situation. From plasters to purses you might not know whats hiding in the depths of the dark abyss, you know deep in your heart that it will come in handy one day.

Tartan Walkies.

Hellooo!
It seems like it's been raining forever , but when I looked out  of  the window this morning I finally saw some sunshine creeping through and decided to take my wee dog on a walk. Tartan is a top trend this A/W and I managed to grab a bargain with this lightweight tartan jumper from Primark for 12.99. Wear your tartan with a chunky gold necklace and it really brightens it up. Pair it with something simple and the tartan will become the focus of the outfit. I'm so lucky to live in a city with so much green space. All the photos are taken at Arthurs seat in Edinburgh.

Present Predicaments.

Hello Sunday!

There has been a lot of birthdays recently and it got me thinking how difficult it is to actually buy a nice, meaningful personalised gift for someone these days. So after word of mouth and doing a little digging myself I managed to find some really unique birthday ideas.

Choose which lid you would like
Choose the colour
Choose a message for the bottom
personalise your gift wrap box
Nails Inc is the first Idea , on there website you are now able to design your own nail polish for you or a friend which is great as you can tailor make it to your friends taste. at quite a hefty price tag of £20 it is on the pricey side however nails inc is good quality polish, and is worth it.

Pride and Prejudice postcards
Jane Eyre Pocket Mirror
Lord of the rings necklace

The second idea I heard about from some friends, and is for all the book lovers out there literaryemporium.co.uk lets you see merchandise reflected from some of your favourite books. The most famous quotes are already there but if you would like a special quote I'm sure there would be no problem.

Property of 'Blurb'

The last idea is a sight called blurb.co.uk where you can create your own book or photo book. This would be a really great present as you can make it so personal. There is also a lot of different ideas you can do with the books. For example if someone you know has been travelling , gather all there photos up and put something together,  an instagram photo book is also very popular. At the end of the day it's what you think they would like best.

Winter Boots.

The time has sadly come to be searching for ye olde winter boot again. it may seem a bit pessimistic looking for winter boots in September, however it's an investment and since there's snow due in October I'm not taking any risks.

The chelsea boot remains the winning shoe regarding comfort and durability however if you want to jazz things up cut out boots are extremely popular at the moment and come in all shapes and sizes. Wear your statement boots with a pair of fluffy socks, skinny jeans, retro sweat and an oversized woolen coat.

OOTD. 10/09/13

Ello!
I had a day off from work today so didn't get out of bed until 12. After watching the exhilarating 'bargain hunt' decided to finally leave my room and walk my dog which was equally exciting. It was a shame cause the day seemed so short and the light started to fade but I just managed to catch it and took some photos of my outfit today for everyone to see. Quality.

Salut!
I am such a sucker for impulse buying and recently on these rainy summer days. I find myself browsing endlessly through sites like Pinterest just loving everything I see. So to try and tame the temptation of internet shopping I decided to make a monthly wish list which will hopefully keep my spending down and my wardrobe neat!
Plain high waisted shorts are so good cause they just go with everything, they're there just as a wee staple piece. A nice kimono is a must have this summer especially in Scotland to hide you from the cool breeze. Beanie hats have been so popular recently and are great if you want to make something look more casual.I have been looking for a nice pair of boots for ages and these look perfect , Some Sunglasses to pretend it's sunny then a few other bits and bobs.

SHOEEZIEESS

Hiya.
I feel like shoes have been neglected a wee bit in my posts so i've made a collection of my current top 5 pairs of shoes. yas. I avoid heels at all costs I can JUST manage a heeled boot or a platform but from there as I found out last Saturday night, I end up flat on my face. But there is plenty of options for those stiletto amateurs and anyway the person with the flats is always the last one dancin'.

Country Gal...

Sorry I haven't posted in so loong ! I've been away in far flung places.
